 > Numerous dark sport, pale yellowish fur, tail ringed with black, two horizontal stripes on cheeks: chin, throat and breast, dirty white and without spots.

 * Food :

 > Birds, reptile, rodents, hare and sometimes-even insects.

 * Distribution :

 > In Gujrat, Velavadar National Park, Kachchh, Saurastra and parts of Banaskatha districts. Recently swwn near Kaladungar in kachchh.

 * Habitat :

 > Desert and scrub jungl.

 * Behavior :

 > Nocturnal. Spends the daytime under ground in burrows and comes out for pray after dusk.

 * Signs of presence :

 > Underground burrow or hollows in scrub may give indication of its presence.

* Depite its name ' Desert Cat ', this cat has also been recorded in central india and Deccan region of Maharastra near Pune, the desert cat ( Felis sylvestris orrnata ) is a sub-species of wild cat ( filis sylvestis ) that is distributed over many parts of the world . ( source:1,4 )
