* Description 
>The wild dog looks like the domestic dog. Its reddish grey body,thick and hairy tail,round ears,six molar teeth in the lower jaw and 10-12 teats are distinctive.
* food    
>Carnivorous.Hunts in a pack. It can hunt almost all kinds of animals depending on pack size.
* Distribution 
>Occurs in the forested region of central and South Gujarat Most likely,the specie is now extirpated from Gujarat.
* Habitat 
>Inhabits forests,ravines and in the vicinity of rivers. Occurs less in dense forests.
* Behaviour 
>Diurnal.On seeing a human Being,these gods warn each other by making like sharp whistling. They eat all parts of their prey except bones of larger size. They can kill big animals if they occur in a large pack. Live in closely bonded packs.
 * Signs of presence 
>Sharp,repeated "whistling"cries and pugmarks can give clues.


wild dogs live in groups (packs) Each group in constituted of a family. A pack in a tireless "hunting mechanism".Usually,a pack hunts a pig or a deer. However.2-3 families often get united to form a large pack.Such a large pack of wild dogs can kill large beasts like gaur and wild buffalo. There are social creatures and bond between young ones and their parents in often long lasting.
