ANDERSON'S SHREW

* Description
This is a small sized shrew with round ears and small eyes.Its body is covered with silky hairs except the tail which is hairless.Tushes-like two curved teeth protruding from the mouth are distinctive. Breeds twice-thrice per year.
* food
Omnivorous.It feeds on insects,food-grains etc.
* Distribution
Kachchh and surendranagar (may be present in other parts of the state ).
* Habitat
Lives near human population in drier parts.
* Behaviour
Not much is known .Its claws are adapted for climbing and digging.
Unlike most mammals, some species of shrew are venomous.Also ,some species of shrew use echolocation, most likely to detect their habitats (unlike bats/whales etc. that use ecolocation to catch prey)Shrewa have a high metabolic rate.
