Description
Large sized, brown to rusty brown squirrel with a long tail. Its forelimbs and hind limbs are connected with a membrane. This membrane is used by this squirrel to glide in the air.
Food
Omnivorous. It consumes insects, fruits, flowers, leaves. poog seeds etc. :
Distribution
This flying squirrel is found in areas of Shoolpaneshwar sanctuary, Ratanmahal and Kevadi forest in Chhota Udepur. Also seen in some parts of Dang forests.
Habitat
It inhabits dense forest area with tall trees. uounquasia
Behaviour
Crepuscular to nocturnal. It roosts in a tree-hole or sheltered places in crowns of trees. It glides from a higher elevation to a lower elevation and then again runs on ground and climbs over tree.

Chiseling sound when feeding, low repeated calls at night
