Description : 

Soft furred mouse with very long tail, chestnut coat, white underparts

Food

Herbivorous. It feeds on fruits, tender leaves and flower buds. pood 

Distribution: 

All over Gujarat. 

Habitat 

Trees Habitat and shrubs constitute its main habitat.

Behaviour : 

Active, builds arboreal, a. uo trees or in bamboo clumps. Males have separate nests for roosting / shelter.

Longtailed tree mouse uses its long tail to get better hold while climbing up and down the trees. Their movement on ground is less facile. The female builds a big nest when about to produce her young. The nest is usually placed in a hole or crevice in a tree or among branches
