Large Cuckoo-Shrike
Size: 28 c.m
The big kashyo tree bird. That is, wandering in big trees. He used to sit on the highest branches. Speaks flying from one tree to another. The sound is a little squeaky, but nice to hear. Once the sound is remembered, it can be recognized from above. The first impression of his presence comes from his voice. The bird lover's attention is immediately drawn. I was first introduced to her by her special voice.
The whole upper body is nice gray. Black band in the eye. Wing and tail black. Petal white. Like the female male, her eyelids are very blurred and there are plenty of gray horizontal lines in the basement. Beak and legs black. Sits upright.
They are mostly but also feed on figs and forest fruits and usually fly in small groups with a bounding flight just above the forest canopy Not in Kutch. The rest appear in another convenient place, its food is insects, papa, teta etc.
Breeding The species breeds in the dry months of winter(1). The nest is a shallow saucer placed in the fork of a horizontal branch at some height above the ground(2). The saucer is made of twigs and grass decorated on the outside with cobwebs and with little lining(3). The typical clutch is three eggs in peninsular India and two around Bengal(4)
