Slightly larger than Tapusiya, Tapusiya is superior in color.  The upper body is coffee colored during the breeding season.  Cade and tail light blonde.  Rough white but horizontally lined.  Coffee colored throat and chest.  The rest of the petals are white and there are small patches like rice.  Beak black and thick, legs dark gray.  Males resemble females.  Tapkila Tapusiya prefers greenery and overgrown areas instead of farms.  Found in Gir in Saurashtra.  Others also appear sometimes.  They live in convenient places in Gujarat.  Not a rare bird.

Scaled breasted munia or speckled munia (Lonchura punctulata), known in the pet trade as nutmeg mannikin or spunch finch, is one.  Sparrow-sized astrilid finch native to tropical Asia.  Launchura, a species of the genus, it was formally described and named in 1758 by Carl Linnaeus.  Its name is based on different scales such as breast and abdomen on scars.  The adult is brown above and has a black conical bill.  The species has 11 subspecies in its range and varies slightly in size and color.

The species is endemic to Asia and occurs east of India and Sri Lanka, Indonesia and the Philippines (where it is called Mayang Pakinj).  It has been introduced in many other parts of the world, and wild populations have been established in Puerto Rico and Hispaniola, as well as parts of Australia and the United States.  This bird has been listed as a least concern by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
