Butterflies drink turtle tears for sodium

There are more than 24,000 species of butterflies on earth.  Although butterflies are found on all continents except Antarctica, they are not found in Antarctica.  Butterflies can also drink human blood, sweat and tears.  It also sucks nectar from flowers like bees.  Butterflies living in the Amazon jungle drink turtle eye tears to make up for the lack of sodium in their bodies.  Butterflies can be seen across their wings no matter what color they are in and no matter how dark they are.  Thus most butterflies have four wings, but the largest butterfly in the world has twelve wings.  Their life cycle is two to four weeks but some butterflies live as long as 9 months.  When they are about to lay eggs, they check the leaves with their own feet to see if they are fit to lay eggs.
