The rhinoceros is a mammal.  It is the second largest and heaviest animal after the elephant.  According to scientific findings, rhinos have existed on Earth for the last 50 million years.  There are five species of rhinos in the world.  Three species are found in Asia and two species in Africa.  The five species of rhinoceros are black rhinoceros, Indian rhinoceros, white rhinoceros, Sumatran rhinoceros and Javan rhinoceros.  It includes white rhinos found in Africa, though It is gray instead of whole white.  Indian rhinos are found in Kaziranga National Park in Assam.  They are also found in West Bengal, Odisha, UP and the Himalayas.  Apart from India, this Indian rhino lives in countries like Burma, Nepal, Pakistan.  The Javan rhinoceros lives on the island of Java, Indonesia.  However, the survival of this rhino is slowly disappearing.  Sumatran rhinos are found on the Indonesian island of Sumatra.

Rhinoceros is characterized by its horns, which are a bunch of hairs and this horn is very strong.  If for some reason the horn breaks, new ones grow.  The Indian rhinoceros and the Javan rhinoceros have only one horn The remaining three species of rhino have two horns.  They are eleven feet long and six feet high in size.  Their lifespan is about fifty years.  The rhinoceros weighs about two and a half tons.  However some rhinos weigh as much as three and a half tons.  Their skin is very thick, sensitive.  Its also Because the skin is sensitive, it stays in the mud all day to protect it from the sun.  Rhinos do not have hair on their bodies, only hair on their tails and ears.  Their nails are like elephants.  The gado is a vegetarian animal.  It is mostly used for health of grass, leaves and plants.  Despite their heavy bodies, rhinos run at a speed of fifty kilometers per hour.  He has good sense of smell and hearing but little ability to see.  Rhinos generally prefer to live in long grasslands in addition to mud.  Thus the rhinoceros is a peaceful animal, but it becomes aggressive if it is harmed.  A herd of rhinos is called a crush.  Rhinos usually fight among themselves, often leading to their deaths.  The female of the goonda keeps the baby in her womb for 12 to 18 months.  She gives birth to only one cub at a time.  Rhinoceros cubs do not have horns at birth.
